The World's Friendliest Airline was part of the Pan American company, sporting beautiful and colorful liveries in the fleet while serv ing flights between the US West Coast and South America. The merging with the biggest rival Braniff International in 1967 put an end in the Panagra tropical liveries.
With the DC-3s, passengers could fly from Miami to Buenos Aires in less than the PanAm/Panair do Brasil thorugh brazilian coast. For 550USD in 1939 with stops in Panama City, Guayquil and Santiago, passengers could cross the globes hemisfere in the confort, speed and safety that only the DC-3s could provide, until they were later replaced by the faster, bigger, pressurized DC-6s (check livery for the DC-6 here).
