Born in 1920, he trained as a locksmith, but became a pilot in 1939 and later enlisted in the Slovak Army, where he became a fighter pilot flying the Bf-109 in 1943. He was assigned to Letka 13, or 13.(Slow)/JG52, on the eastern front, where he shot down 9 aircraft. After the outbreak of the Slowak Uprising in August 1944, he flew his aircraft through the frontline and joined the Russians on 31 August at Lviv and later the insurgents at Tri Duby on 6 September. His aircraft was overpainted in the colors of this repaint, and with it, he shot down three Luftwaffe aircraft, two FW-189's and a Ju-88. On 6 October 1944 he made the last of his 31 flights for the rebels, spending his last bullets on a Stuka. Two days later, he was flown back to the Russian lines. He joined the Czecho-Slovak Army Air Corps and rose to the rank of Captain. He remained in the Czechoslovak Air Force after the war until purges in 1958 released him from the service. He then worked as a miner and train driver until his retirement in 1980. He died in 2000. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom.
