H145 Action Pack Offshore Objects
BETA VERSION 1.1
Update 1.1 November 19, 2022
- Added 3 small objects for lakes
- Added HEMS missions to generate boat accidents in lakes
- Added coordinates to screen messages
- Updated Mission: 68ponyGT Offshore - Water Rescue (Select Range)
- Start Mission in HEMS Variant to create lake scenarios
- Start Mission in Offshore Variant for Sea Rescues
Update Notes: If you had problems with the objects download again, I have fixed an issue with the package. In testing the lake query was working great from random locations but I'm seeing some missions at the edge of the water or out of the water. I will see if I can improve the query
This is a beta version of offshore simobjects to be used with H145 Action Pack Offshore Missions. All objects and mission code are still in testing so let me know of any bugs
There is a Offshore Rescue Anywhere Mission 68ponyGT Offshore - Water Rescue (Select Range) included with each object chosen randomly. I have added the HPG life raft for hoisting in all OFFSHORE missions. I will change this once I have humans on decks of ships. Once you select the range the accident will be generated in front of you with a bearing between 300 and 60 degrees. The vessels will sink once you have the last survivor hoisted. All objects drift with wind direction and speed so if you are having problems hoisting turn off live weather. If you start the mission in the HEMS variant a lake accident will be created at a random lake within selected range. This query works better in some locations than others.
VAR 1 (FUTURE) displays survivors on deck
VAR 2 Controls sinking. 0 = 0% sunk, 50 = 50% sunk, 100 = completely sunk and out of sight, except the oil rig which doesn't completely sink and boats/ships that roll over. When you change the var 2 value it will not instantly move to that position, instead the ship/rig will slowly sink to that value and stop. You can then start sinking again by increasing var 2, say after survivors are rescued
NOTE: Currently it is not possible to make a simobject solid so you can not land on the oil rig, oh and it's sinking :)

Hello friend, are you ok? I'm here to say that yes, it's possible to create solid objects for any purpose, either to land with the helicopter or just not fly through the objects. If you need help with this, send me a private message. 😉

Hi, I can create helipads and oil rigs that you can land on but only with scenery objects (modellib). This does not work for simobjects. I have looked on fsdeveloper.com and read it is not possible with simobjects. Even the aircraft carrier used in maverick mission is only landable in the mission using this in the mission code

Hallo

The loading of the mission went smoothly. Love love the dropping flare effects, that's amazing. I don't think I saw any place to input VAR inputs to adjust the sinking? Otherwise, this everything was great! Will try more places 😊

Thanks, all of these objects are still work in progress. I need to adjust the LODs for the flare. Changing VAR 2 must be done in the mission file. You can look at my json file and see I create the object, wait for user to get a certain distance, then sink to 10-50%, then sleep for a few minutes, then set to 100%

Thanks for replying to where to put the files. I did (I think) everything you said. I've copied the "68ponygt-actionpack-vehicles-offshore" folder to the community folder and after that I did run the Update Mission Index.cmd file. Still I don't see the missions appearing in the tablet(Off shore helicopter selected). Even in the mission editor I don't see the extra objects in the list (other object). Something else I can try? 😊
Thanks for your help anyway!

Hi, sorry you are having issues. My mission should appear in the HPG Offshore folder. The name is 68ponyGT Offshore - Nearby water rescue. Sometimes I have to click the refresh button. I always run the update tool with msfs shut down, then restart msfs. I will see if I can think of any other causes
There is a test mission at Fort Lauderdale KFLL. Start at parking 106. Look on the maps tab of mission app in tablet. You should see a black flag on the map and have the ENTER MISSION button
Let me know if this doesn't work

Awesome work!! Could you consider doing a mission pack near NYC, using your NYC helipads scenery? that would be great!

Yeah sure, New York mission sounds great! This beta upload is to get everything tested and working for mission creators. I will be adding more objects and also missions once everything looks good
