MSFS 2020 PMDG 737-800 P-8A of the RAAF. No PTP files to mess with, just overwrite the livery you hope to change, for example I used a DHL livery (E:\SteamLibrary\Community\pmdg-aircraft-738-liveries\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 737-800BDSF DHL (N737KT - 2020 - Operated by iAero Airways)). Shoutout to Steve Drabek for the wings and engines! When combined with the FS2020BMAP download you get a defacto air and surface search radar capability.
Woooo there gentlemen.Take a chill pill.
ssbn622,maybe saying "no PTP files to mess with" maybe the wrong way of stating this.Maybe just say,"So far I have only learnt to do this by overwriting an existing file.If anyone could help me by converting to a PTP file or show me where to find out,I would appreciate that information.".You did leave yourself open to be criticised.Regardless of which way we do things it still takes time to learn and do.
Vashkonnor.Fair enough you have pointed out that it's not the best method.Maybe though you could suggest how to find the right method. Not use swearword's to get your point across. You can still get your point across and be a bit more civil.
ssbn622.Maybe you could have just left it at "No need to download it then. Thanks anyway".
Yes I'm probably leaving myself open for possible nasty comments from either of you but I hope not.Let's just get along and do the best we can please.
I don't have the 800.Only the 600 at this time, but I've downloaded it to have a look for possibly later. Now I'm not sure how to do what you suggest but thats for a later time now.Cheers Gents.

ssbn622 was quoting a famous line from Jack Nicholson in his reply...hopefully in jest. If so I get it....but others who don't know the movie reference make take offense.
Either way (pun intended), yes....ssbn622 you need to use the PMDG Ops center utility to export your files into a PTP file because your current method is a complete mess for folks trying to figure out how to install your liveries.
In addition to having screenshots that would go into the livery folder (bad idea), you have a 178mb xcf file in the folder that does nothing, and any additional files you've added that were not part of the original DHL livery (for example) are not going to be seen and will show up and pink textures (if at all) if the person installing the file doesn't know how to update the main layout.json file in the root of the 738 livery folder. (99.99% of folks don't know...nor need to if the livery is installed using the PMDG Ops Center and PTP format).
You have been using my 737-700 P-8 files and giving me a shout out for the wings and engines...but never asked my permission to use them. I overlooked this on your RAF version as it was the 1st one that came to my attention. I gave you retroactive permission to use my textures, but you are using more than just my wings and engines as I compared your fuse textures as well to mine and most of the components are an exact match.
Send me a PM here at flightsim.to and let's see if I can get you using the Ops center and exporting as a PTP file, and discuss you using my textures without my explicit permission. I'm a pretty fair an giving guy, but also want you to be doing this right. ;)
