Das Neue Palais ist ein Schloss an der Westseite des Parks Sanssouci in Potsdam. Der Bau wurde 1763 nach Beendigung des Siebenjährigen Krieges unter Friedrich dem Großen begonnen und 1769 fertiggestellt. Es gilt als letzte bedeutende Schlossanlage des Barock in Preußen und als eines der Hauptwerke des Friderizianischen Rokokos. Friedrich hatte es nicht als königliche Residenz geplant, sondern als Schloss für Gäste seines Hofes. Kaiser Wilhelm II. machte das Neue Palais von 1888 bis 1918 zu seinem Hauptwohnsitz.
The New Palais is a palace on the west side of Sanssouci Park in Potsdam. Construction began in 1763 after the end of the Seven Years' War under Frederick the Great and was completed in 1769. It is considered to be the last important baroque palace complex in Prussia and one of the main works of the Frederician rococo style. Friedrich had not planned it as a royal residence, but as a palace for guests of his court. Kaiser Wilhelm II made the New Palace his main residence from 1888 to 1918.
