KSSQ - Shell Lake Airport
Shell Lake Airport is a small public airport operated by the city of Shell Lake in northwestern Wisconsin. It has a single 3711x75 ft / 1131x23 m runway with tiedowns on the ramp for transient aircraft, however, no fuel service is available. There is also an unofficial grass runway that parallels 14/32 on the west but it's condition is pretty rough and it is only recommended for aircraft equipped for rough, unpaved terrain. The alure of this airport comes in the fact that it sits on the shore of Shell Lake giving great views when approaching runway 32 or departing runway 14.
Features (1.0):
Resurfaced runway and ramp
Custom 3D models for the hangars and some miscellaneous objects
Custom, handplaced airport markings and taxiway lights
Re-shaded grass in airport area to better match summer conditions
Added some piers and small boats on the shore nearest the airport
Airport lights match the real airfield now
Fixed terraforming on runway turnaround areas
Known Issues:
- The sim forces it's own runway markings for runway thresholds so I couldn't customize them quite like I wanted to without messing up the runway lighting
Extra:
- Airport recommended by ryanbatc
Hey, anyway you could do Greenbay's airport KGRB?

Probably won't get around to doing GRB. I'm pretty burned out on large airports and 3D modeling on complex structures.

Incredible as always, Windhover. Would you be interested at all in making a scenery for KAUW?

I have thought about it, it's a pretty neat location in the middle of Wausau with Rib Mountain nearby. I may come back to it eventually, though I really want to make a few more airports around the country before I come back to Wisconsin again.
