The Asobo LS-8 glider ASI and Altimeter 'converted' to imperial.
The ASI reads in Knots, it's needle has been repainted red to improve visibility.
The VNE placard has been converted to Knots and Feet.
The Altimeter metric scale has been replaced with a two-circle imperial scale:
- From 0-3000 feet the white needle indicates height on the outer scale.
- Between 3000 feet and 6500 feet
* the white needle indicates height on the inner scale
* the yellow needle indicates height on the outer scale
- Above 6500 feet the yellow needle indicates height on the outer scale
Note the white needle has 10* the precision of the yellow needle.
Sounds complicated but you soon get used to it.
Note also that the McReady can be configured to display feet, though in RL you will often have altimeter set to QNH (for map reading) and McReady set 'Standard' (to avoid breaking into controlled airspace) or vice-versa.
The Vario has been left in m/s as it's not possible to change the label, however it's an easy conversion - just double it.
For metric users the second file just paints the needle red, you don't need the main file.
To install, copy either the main file or the needle-only file to your community folder.
To un-install delete the kjb-cockpit-ls8 folder.
