Mackinac Island Airport is a quaint airport that really gets busy in the summer when tourists come from all over the world to relax at the Grand and other historic hotels. I can't think of a place that has so much in such a small area. National park, fort, picturesque harbour, Mackinac Bridge, and of course a cute as all get out airport, I have never been there, but it sure isn't very far from the Canadian border and it just might lure be over one day. (I'm a Canuk)
I tried to do justice to the beautiful terminal building (just exterior at this time) but wanted to do a lighthouse too. So I was delighted to find such a unique and wonderful one as The Round Island Light. There were a few fuzzy photos so I did my best. It has a revolving light so do buzz by on your local tour of the bridge, lighthouse, over the harbour and fort and Grand Hotel and back to the airport.
(the hotels will be a good future update project)

Be kind to animals. They make us human.

Many thanks from Warstein in Germany also here for this well-improved Airport to fly in Michigan 😊

The BEST scenery, out there, featuring horses, or animals, fantastic animation. I made a video, of your great workmanship & fine detail, keep up the good work,,,https://youtu.be/CrrDJNjls_0

Wow that's a very cool video.. Amazing airplane.
If you downloaded an early version there are some minor updates, eg taxi lights added. I notice in your video the small deer and the flag were not there.
I think Dave's 3D animals scenery library would fix that. As for the flag I will see what I can do there.
Thanks again.. Don't forget about Mackinac County airport and it's lighthouse and further south to Beaver Island.. Kind of a bundle

Hi, again.
I've found the carriage and the horse!
Thank you!
MazerMart author
Yes.. they are being fed and waiting for the long trek back to the hotel.
Also I was having real trouble getting the harnesses to work.

Hi,
Marvellous work!
But I can't find the horses? Where are they?
Thank you.

Thank you! I just started studying a lot of the airspace in this region for work....fun to hop around to these little airports in the sim.

Thank you! Love to get those 5 star ratings. Good luck and have fun. Mackinac County Airport should be out this week, maybe another lighthouse too.

I love Mackinac Island, such a great place to visit. I've been many times via the ferry but one day I would love to fly Great Lakes Air from St. Ignace. One friendly reminder I have is that there are no cars allowed on the island, so removing them from around the terminal would be my only critique. Thanks for taking the time to make this airport!
MazerMart author
oh That is very interesting about the cars. I had no idea. I shall revise as soon as I am back home on my sim computer. I will make an effort to try a low poly Grand Hotel as well.
thanks and cheers

Great addition....I too request that you add the Grand Hotel. The island without The Grand Hotel is like London without Big Ben. Hope you'll make that addition for us all.

Yes.. I agree what a horrendous block is in the default version. See comments about having to do it by hand. But there seems to be some interest in this airport and Mackinac Island area. So, like how I did Cape Cod, I will put this into the roster. Maybe a seaplane area too. See other comments from Freddielaker 2.
Apreciate the good vibes. thanks

Can you put the grand hotel in where they filmed Somewhere in time please?
MazerMart author
That is a large but gorgeous hotel and should in the scene. Google doesn't have it in photogrametry and so it would need to be done by hand. These small buildings take about 6 to 8 hourse each to do. I'm not sure if simmers out there understand the research, downloading images, building, adding textures, testing etc that it takes for even a simple airport like this one. So I appreciate the positive comments and any stars I get. :)
I have it as well as more piers and boats in the harbour on the list for future updates. Stay tuned.
