Tynset airfield (ENTY). Situated outside the small town of Tynset in the southern part of Norway, this cozy grass airfield rests on the banks of the river Glomma, the longest river in Norway.
I decided I needed a project, and landed on making this airfield - my first project for MSFS. I have actually made this airfield twice before for two previous installments of Flight simulator, and I always had a sneaking suspicion that I would have to make it once more when this glorious new sim arrived. I don't actually live in the area, but I have spent just about every vacation, summer and winter, in the area since I was born. The reason being my relatives live just a stone's throw away across the river (if you're REALLY good at throwing stones), and the fact that my family built a cabin further up the mountains some years later. It really is a special place for me.
Now, I have visited the airfield just once - many, many years ago. So I had to rely on ye olde google to find any pictures I could get my hands on to use as reference. I assume the local members of the Tynset flying club will spot a few errors, seeing as there was a fair bit of guesswork - but all in all I think it will serve as a fairly good rendition.
I hope you'll enjoy my version of Tynset. Seeing as I had to learn everything from scratch, this has probably taken me a couple of months to make. A LOT of frustration and probably a good few hours of just plain yelling at my computer screen went into this! But, using this project as an escape from reality really did me some good.
By the way - I would like to thank everyone who go out of their way to make tutorials for the rest of us - I certainly wouldn't have been able to make this airport without you. Be it 3d modeling, texturing, exporting, the scenery editor etc. So to youtube creators like Federico Pinotti, BenneyBoy444, Flying Theston, Bill Womack, Rotornut44 and many more - thank you!
NOTE! For all of you who use the map replacement tool; Google maps in this area is straight up garbage - I really recommend you just stick to using default Bing maps for this region.
Hope to see you there!

Nice work, but why is the file size so heavy for such a small airstrip? I have seen much bigger airports that are within 20-30MB but still look top notch. I am just asking 😉

Thanks! Maybe it's because 20-30 mb sized airports possibly use some premade buildings that are already in the sim? That'll keep size down. Everything on this airfield is made from scratch. I tried to keep the texture size at a reasonable level. Anyway, a little over 300 mb isn't really that heavy, if you ask me.

Thanks a lot for this airport Tynset. I was on my way to continue my development of this airport. But now, as you have finnished it, I won't need to. Great work for a first time! 😊

This particular airport seems to be causing a conflict with airport services world wide. If I enable this airport in addon linker, all services are missing. Once I disable this airport, services are returned.

Thanks for your feedback - I suspect it has something to do with the services.xml file - which was surprising. I didn't think it would be affecting things globally. Anyway, I'll have a look at it - thanks again!

Thanks a lot for your effort! Very nicely done! Took off from Folldal and flew VFR 60 deg to northeast. Landed on 05. Great fun! May I suggest some static aircraft, and maybe a couple of people at club house ( Dave's 3d people library) , cars at the carpark. Good work!

Hi, thanks! Glad you liked it. I've been planning to bring some more life to the airfield, and already have Dave's libraries. Thanks for reminding me. :)
