This mod has moved! It is now part of my combined PNG airstrips mod. Future versions of Tazon airstrip will be released as part of the combined mod only.
I recommend you delete this mod (wantok-airport-tazo-tazon) from your MSFS community folder, and download the combined PNG airstrips mod.

Tazon airstrip is in a spectacular little valley on the northern side of the Finisterre Range, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea.
Further up the valley you will find AYIS Isan and AYTP Tep Tep, two of the highest elevation airstrips in PNG.
The airstrip is not in MSFS default, and does not appear to have an ICAO, so I used TAZO. It does appear to be maintained and in active use.
If you enjoy bush flying in PNG, check out Bush Divers.
Awesome!

Love the strip and the setting in a stunning valley. Thanks Wontok!
Two questions:
a) LOD pop seems worse than usual - only seeing the next five or so runway cones so you don't see any at all until the last few seconds before touchdown, and then they are popping into view as you roll out.
b) will need to check the topo map to see if there really is that large spike across the valley from the strip.

Thanks. Yes I noticed that LOD effect with the cones as well... not quite sure why they would behave any different than at other strips.
The large spike/s ... well they don't exist in real life, but be careful which topo map you check :) OpenTopoMap (i.e. OpenStreetMap) uses the SRTM data which has these phantom spikes, along with many many other spikes in New Guinea. I've attempted to remove as many as I can of these in this terrain fixes mod: https://flightsim.to/file/19831/png-terrain-mesh-fixes
