Beast Horus - The next generation Microjet
Me, and a group of skilled dedicated people, are developing the safest and most awesome Microjet in the world! We thought ourselves: "What would James Bond choose to fly?" The "Beast Horus" is the answer, featuring state of the art aerodynamics, carbon monocoque technology as used in formula one racing and all safety features you can think of.
With a MTOW of 380kg and aerobatic capabilities, this artpiece of carbon will be the next cool gadget for anybody wanting to own his/her own jet with no compromises at only the cost of an average four seater. Economic cruising at 230kt or landing on grass strip with a stall speed of only 52kt? Getting the 500$ burger or pulling up to 9G (13.5 ultimate)? Just name it, the Horus is your aircraft of choice!
Building this aircraft took a lot of effort, please give me a follow on social media in return!

How to fly:
- Before engine start: Turn on battery (key on the lower panel), turn on Nav&Strobe lights, activate the engine master (guard switch on left panel) - engine will spool up (Note: right now the switch is not starting the engine automatically - use Ctrl-E instead) Afterwards, turn on the generator, avionics and pitot heat.
- Taxi: Turn on Taxi&Landing lights
- Short field procedure: Use flaps 15° for short field operation (below 2000ft field length), otherwise flaps up.
- Rotate very slowly at 60kt, initial climb to 400ft at 90kt, then accelerate to 120kt with 90% thrust. Afterwards gear up and landing/taxi lights off
- Cruise: reduce the thrust setting to 45-70%. Cruise at 230kt is recommended. High speed cruise up to 300kt possible at higher thrust settings, but any bigger gust will produce about 4G!!!
- Descend: activate landing/taxi lights and reduce thrust to zero. Fly at 230kt, then level off and use speedbrake if necessary to slow down to 150kt
- Approach: 150kt, use speedbrake if required. Set flaps 15° and gear down when starting final descent. Set flaps 40° on short final. Be aware that 50% thrust will be required! Final at 70-80kt depending on weight and runway length.
Known limitations (will be implemented during the next weeks):
- Engine switch not implemented yet --> will have "Off, On, Start"
- Off: Fuel pump off, engine master off, fuel cut-off activated
- On: Fuel pump on, engine master on
- Start (momentary position): Engine will spool up if not running
- Cockpit not fully modelled yet
- Dashboard not fully modelled yet. Collision mesh is a little off
- Stick and thrust lever are only placeholders until being modelled
- Not all switches are fully funtional yet (some are re-used from DA40/DA62 and will be exchanged)
- Seat upholstery missing
- Lift and drag figures still need some dialling in. This will be revised, once that CFD is available in next sim update
Version history:
- V0.4.2: Instrument sunshade added, windshield textures added, pilot node removed (for now)
- V0.4.1: Complete redesign from ground up, after the real aircraft has undergone some major design revisions
- V0.3.1: Mesh updates and thumbnail exchanged
- V0.3.0: First flyable version
You need to download the working title G3X mod to fully unlock Garmin G3X functionality: Download G3X mod
Special thanks to Carlos Z. from CZR Design, who has designed the livery and some parts of the interior for this aircraft. Additional thanks to the GOT-Friends team who have provided unmeasurable help for makis this project happen for MSFS!
Can you please share the pictures of the cockpit, and detail the performance profile? Thank you.

Have a look at our twitter or facebook account: https://twitter.com/beastAero
The update will likely be available beginning of October. We are already flight testing and adding the last effects.

How can I clean the cockpit glass? I would prefer the clean glass version of v0.4.1.

There will be the next update within the next week for the panel and emissives/lights. This will also include improvements to the windshield, where the textures are way less visible.

The plane is ok but I have always the Pilot at interior view. I solved the problem by pulling the seatview adjustment forward a bit.
I removed the corresponding node from the model for now in V0.4.2. Later on I will create a switch for turning the pilot on/off.

good job. the elevator is kind of wobbly though. is it supposed to be like that?

The problem is, that in reality the steering forces are rising with the square of the speed. In real aircraft, you fly with "constant force". You need the full range at landing speed to create adequate force, while at cruise (I fly DA42 at 150kt) you need only less than half an inch of travel while steering force is significant.
MSFS cannot fully simulate that with the limitations that joystick have, so there are variables where you limit the angular deflections when speed is increasing (by the way, the same method that Airbus is using in its real aircraft).
In reality, it will for sure be harder to fly than a Cessna 152, but not as wobbly as in the sim. I will try to finetune that in one of the following releases.

So, just to make sure I am understanding: This jet is designed without a canopy? I know Formula 1 racecars have an open cockpit, but wouldn't this jet be twice as fast? Maybe a better question: Does this plane have any basis in reality or is it just a fun project to create something beastly that could never fly in real life?

I am currently building it in real life. You can follow the progress on FB/Twitter/YT but for the last four months, the MSFS model took 99% of my time. Right now, I build a mockup of the cockpit which is used for verifying that the size and seating position is ergonomic to fly and it will later be used as a full motion simulator for training before the first flight (as it is a single seater and requires a type rating - as all jets do legally). Also the nose section is partially built already and I will post a new video soon, now that I can shift some time from MSFS.
The windshield is an issue of Asobo Blender exporter and they are currently working on the bug ticket. In the uploaded version it is already visible, except for the fingerprints and scratches. Hope they will fix them soon.

Great aircraft. Am getting parts of the pilot's face, his glasses and micophone moving around in the main cockpit view. Not sure if it is a result of my ultra wide monitor and resolution of 3440x1440 or is a general problem with the view point being too far back in 0.4.1.

I removed the pilot animation from MSFS for that reason, but I heard already that for some people it still appears in the game. Try exchanging the section in aircraft.cfg with this text:
[PILOT]
pilot =""
pilot_default_animation =""
pilot_attach_node =""

this aircraft would be good for racing

Definitely. I have contacts to some guys from the label with the male cow logo, but unfortunately they are more focused on other sports than aircraft right now.

This project is dead dont botter !
Hi! It is not dead, but we hit a showstopper. The center of gravity is too far aft by 10 inches and there is no component heavy enough that can be moved to change the CoG enough. Currently a new wing and fuselage is calculated, which moves the aerodynamic center to the rear.

What a fantastic plane. Im sooo loving it, although it is totally bugged and hardly useable since MSFS Update 5. Hopefully it will get updated and improved soon 😊

I am back in last week of August and then I will work on the aircraft again.
Planned updates: refined cockpit, improved engine, added textures.

I guess I'm the only one that can't get the thing to start. lol
I turn on the battery, turn the lights on and hit the starter and it spools up to ~12900 RPM, then drops back down to 0.
Am I missing something?
